During the survey in JJ Cluster in Jahangir puri we came across a Gujrati community basically belonging to Gujrat.Laxhmi ben is among one of them staying since last 35 years in that locality. We came to know about her struggle to survive along with her family. By occupation Lakshmi ben is a (nimbu mirchi) Seller. She goes to the near by market area(Adarsh Nagar)shops and houses, to tie nimbu/ mirch. Her husband, Nanji is a lemon seller who sells lemon in the market of Red Fort. Her elder son Ramesh is married, and is a daily wager working as a fruit packer in states like Andhra Pradesh, Kullu Manali etc. Her daughter –in –law is a house wife and her younger son is studying, even sometimes he too helps his father in his business.
The family lives in a one room kitchen set, which is half built, not even plastered completely. Along with her growing family and other basic requirements, she wanted her house to be reconstructed properly and completely. On the other hand , she too wanted her house to get registered in order to avoid the future consequences and in convenience. She was scared, in future if the government bring any changes, and if any of the regularised bodies or authority like DDA, MCD,etc relocates the JJ Cluster, then in return she can get some reimbursement from the government. Along with these requirements she approached to SGRLtd.
Thus looking into the matter , SGRLtd team went to the Dusib office , to collect the relevant information and to know the registration procedure.
SGRLtd financed the sum of Rs 3 lac to Laxmi ben, through which she reconstructed her house and is staying happily.
